Custom SMTP

Send Alerts and Reports Through Your Company's Mail Server

The DockRay integration with your own SMTP server lets you send monitoring alerts and reports through your company's email infrastructure. This allows DockRay messages to be delivered using your own mail server and sender address.

Alerts Through Your Own Mail Server

DockRay can use your configured SMTP server to send messages related to application monitoring.

Your custom SMTP configuration can be used for:

  • application monitoring alerts,
  • critical event notifications,
  • periodic DockRay reports.

Separate Configuration for Different Messages

SMTP configurations can be separated by purpose. For example, you can send alerts and reports through different email accounts or mail servers and manage their delivery independently.

Secure Credential Storage

SMTP server credentials are encrypted and stored separately for each DockRay account. The connection can use encryption provided by the configured mail server.

DockRay System Emails

Your custom SMTP configuration applies to monitoring alerts and reports. System emails required for processes such as registration or account recovery continue to be handled by the DockRay infrastructure.

Installation

You can configure your own mail server in the DockRay dashboard under Settings → Email.

  1. Select the purpose of the configuration: alerts, reports, or critical events.
  2. Enter the SMTP server host and port.
  3. Select the appropriate connection encryption method.
  4. Enter the sender address and the required login credentials.
  5. Send a test message to verify the connection and email delivery.

To ensure reliable email delivery, it is also recommended to make sure that the sender domain has SPF and DKIM configured correctly.
