DockRay Errors Linked to Jira Issues
The DockRay integration with Jira Cloud lets you create Bug issues directly from errors detected in your monitored application. Your team can move an issue from DockRay into its standard Jira workflow without manually copying diagnostic information.
Create Jira Issues from DockRay Errors
From the error details in DockRay, you can create a Bug issue in the selected Jira Cloud project.
The issue can include:
- information about the detected error,
- a diagnostic description of the issue,
- the project where the error occurred,
- the selected assignee,
- the initial status,
- a direct link to the error details and stack trace in DockRay.
DockRay and Jira Stay Connected
Creating an issue establishes a persistent link between the error in DockRay and the Jira issue. This allows your team to work on the problem in Jira while retaining quick access to the diagnostic information available in DockRay.
Status Synchronization
The integration can synchronize error status between Jira and DockRay. When a linked issue is completed in Jira, the corresponding error can also be marked as resolved in DockRay.
When resolving an error in DockRay, the integration can also perform the appropriate workflow transition for the linked Jira issue.
Project Configuration
After connecting your Jira Cloud account, you can configure the integration for a specific DockRay project by selecting the appropriate Jira project, default assignee, and initial issue status.
Installation
You can configure the Jira connection in the DockRay dashboard under Settings → Jira, and configure settings for a specific application under Project Settings → Jira.
- Generate an API token for your Atlassian account.
- In DockRay, enter the URL of your Jira Cloud instance in the
*.atlassian.netdomain. - Enter the email address associated with your Atlassian account and the generated API token.
- Go to the Jira settings for the selected DockRay project.
- Select the Jira project where issues should be created.
- Set the default assignee and initial issue status.
Once the configuration is saved, you can create Jira issues directly from error details in DockRay.
