What it is for

The DockRay integration with Notion lets you create issues in a Notion database directly from errors detected in your monitored application. Your team can manage the resolution process in its existing workspace without manually copying information from DockRay.

Create Notion Issues from DockRay Errors

From the error details in DockRay, you can create a new page in the selected Notion database.

The issue can include:

  • the issue title,
  • a diagnostic description of the problem,
  • where the error occurred,
  • the relevant part of the stack trace,
  • the selected assignee,
  • the initial status,
  • a direct link to the error details in DockRay.

DockRay and Notion Stay Connected

Creating a page establishes a persistent link between the error in DockRay and the issue in Notion. This allows your team to manage the work in Notion while retaining quick access to the full diagnostic information in DockRay.

Resolved Error Synchronization

When a linked Notion page is moved to the Complete status group, the corresponding error in DockRay is marked as resolved.

This keeps the issue status in your monitoring system aligned with your team's progress in Notion.

Notion Database Access Control

The integration can only access databases that have been explicitly shared with it in Notion. Once a database has been shared, you can assign it to a specific DockRay project and configure how issues are created.

Integration Configuration

You can configure the Notion connection in the DockRay dashboard under Settings → Notion, and configure settings for a specific application under Project Settings → Notion.

  1. Create an internal integration in the Notion integration settings.
  2. Copy the generated integration token.
  3. Add the token to your DockRay account settings.
  4. In Notion, share the selected database with the integration under Connections.
  5. Go to the Notion settings for the selected DockRay project.
  6. Select the database where issues should be created.
  7. Configure the default assignee and initial issue status.

Once the configuration is saved, you can create Notion issues directly from error details in DockRay.

How information flows

From an event in DockRay to an action in the tool your team already uses.
